Meet the Artists
John Menkedick is the chief rustic designer and builder. He loves hiking through the woods to find just the right twist of bittersweet vine or curve of maple branch to create a signature piece of furniture or decorative accent. He has worked as an artist, freelance writer, senior research scientist, teacher, store manager, statistician, college director of computing, dock worker, newspaper delivery man, store clerk, soda jerk, and handyman. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Masters of Science in Mathematics. He loves his Ferguson F-40 tractor and his trail horse, Taz.

Meg Menkedick is the reluctant webmaster, and eager design consultant, workshop manager, curriculum developer, writer and teacher at RHR. She writes the Art of Rustic blog and designs and teaches creative writing workshops with a focus on nature for children and adults. Meg has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education. She worked as a museum educator and freelance teacher for more than ten years in Columbus, Ohio.
